The Artist's Perspective:

In an era in which not everybody has an equal chance to be heard, including the representation in the art world by art dealers and art galleries, lessons could be learned from Native Tribes. This artwork is appropriately named "Talking Stick".

There was a concept known as a Talking Stick. Only the brave who was holding the Talking Stick could talk. Everybody else should remain silent. Also, everybody in the circle has the opportunity to hold the Talking Stick and thus everybody in the circle has the opportunity to talk and to be heard.

Do you believe that artwork should have something to teach and relate that information to the present day?
