"Crazy Horse's Vision"

 

The Artist's Perspective:

This artwork attempts to capture the Vision Quest of "Crazy Horse" and represents a historical folklore/mythological image. Did you ever wonder why Crazy Horse earned that name, and why it was provided to him and even details about his life? It is admittedly a controversial interpretation of information about his story, and that is what artwork SHOULD capture.

Did you know that Crazy Horse had curly blond hair like his mother, and that he was not the only person in his family to be called "Crazy Horse"? He also was known to be very aloof, and he had a yellow lightning bolt symbol on his face, and his father had a red lightning bolt symbol. He also reportedly had a pebble implanted above his right ear and was told that his tribesmen should not touch him. Sound familiar? There are many reasons why he might have been aloof, but what possible reason could there be a pebble above his right ear?

Read through all that information and then utilize that information to understand the intention for this artwork. Part of the vision is that there was a warrior on a horse that emerged from the water and the warrior was struck by lightning leaving a lightning bolt symbol. After emerging from the water, the horse was very unsteady, and his arms were held back by other braves.

There are ufologists today who have stated on the record that ufos are erratic at low altitudes with relations to the ground, while some might say even "crazy". Furthermore, they have been known to travel underwater as easily as through the air. Any vehicles at that time were probably thought of as "horses" because of not having other points of reference.

Put all the pieces together with information that is known today.
